Valentine’s Day Crafts & Activities to do With Kids

Valentine’s Day is one of our favorite holidays to celebrate with kids since it gives us the opportunity to show a little more love than usual. It’s a great excuse to get kids interested in themed crafts, meals, books or projects and spread some love. Here’s some ideas of things you can do together:

Make Valentine Cards

It’s not exactly the most creative idea, but it’s a tried and true classic. Whip up a bunch of Valentine’s cards and bring them to a local nursing home or hospital to distribute to residents and patients. Just make sure you call to confirm that your local hospitals or nursing homes are able to accept this kind of donation!

Pizza my Heart

For a fun and festive dinner, shape pizza dough into a heart, cut hearts out of pepperoni, bake, and serve. The hearts make this basic dinner feel special without too much extra effort on your part.

Special Delivery

In the days and weeks leading up to the holiday, set up a mailbox for each family member in the kitchen or another high-traffic area. Drop in notes and treats for each family member and open the mailboxes on the 14^th.

Marble Hearts

Have an adult cut heart shapes out of cardstock and use shaving cream and food dye to create a marbled pattern. This one is lots of fun for younger kids since they don’t need to hold a marker or cut anything out. Here's a helpful video that explains how to do this craft:

Heart Stamp

Cut a toilet paper roll in half lengthwise and tape it back together in a heart shape. Set up a stamp station with paints and let little ones create their own masterpiece. Again, this craft is perfect for the littlest ones!

Light up My Heart

Grab an old mason jar and mod podge pink, red and white tissue paper on the outside. Drop in a candle for an instant holiday centerpiece that you’ll treasure for years to come.

Shake it Up

Make DIY snow globes from jars. Use colored glitter, beads, or other little bits and bobs to create holiday-themed sensory toys your kids will love. For younger children, swap out glass jars for plastic to avoid any unexpected shatters.
